Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

05/16/2021 - All-In Membership - Orange (Los Angeles), CA Ethan is an OF/RHP who will graduate high school in 2028. Small frame, with square shoulders, and a thin build with some strength present with plenty of time to fill out as he develops. In the OF, starts with active feet and makes routine plays. Tracks ball well as he gets behind ball and closes well. Short arm action in the back as works into an over-the-top release point coming forward. Creates momentum on his throws into infield with an arm velocity 55mph. On the mound, this RHP does a good job of gathering over rubber with a clean leg lift. Young pitcher who keeps eyes on target and throws strikes. Ethan throws a FB that topped out at 53mph, an 11/5 shaped breaking ball, and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed. Ethan needs to incorporate a long toss and J-band program to increase arm strength and accuracy. Right-handed hitter uses an upright and square stance. Simple load, with good extension, and balanced swing allows him to spray line drives to all fields. Recorded a bat exit velocity of 57mph. Continued growth and development should help him in his high baseball career and beyond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
