11/11/2018 - College PREP - East Hampton (Hartford), CT Ethan is a solid, strong C/RHP who will graduate in 2021. Behind the plate, pop times showed in the 2.69 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. He tracks balls well and sticks balls in the zone through an athletic setup. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get down sooner. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 67-69 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. With 3 years to further develop, Ethan has abilities with time and room to progress his game.
