11/19/2017 - College PREP - Marlborough (Boston), MA Ethan is a young, thin, 2-way player who pitches and plays SS. On the mound, Ethan stands over the rubber well, he has a loose/quick arm action, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He has good mechanics, some feel for his off-speed, and he rotates well through to his target. Ethan can improve on the mound by working on a downhill plane, more glove side lead, and added arm strength. At SS, Ethan has playable hands and feet, and he makes the routine plays. He works the double play well and has accuracy to his target. Abilities at SS can get better with a surer glove, attacking the baseball, and playing more through the ball. At the plate, Ethan is a switch hitter and is equally as good from both sides of the plate. He has simple actions from the left, swings in good rhythm, and has proper separation. From the right, Ethan has good balance, a level swing, and can work the ball gap to gap. Added strength, looser actions, and improved barrel accuracy will help hitting improve from both sides.
