09/29/2021 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Ethan continues to showcase his baseball tools at the Arizona Senior Fall Classic. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind and plays through, creating momentum to his target. Transfer exchange is smooth as he zips throws on a line through his target. He has the versatility to play all 3 OF spots effectively. At the plate, he continues to shine. He stands in with a solid/strong base and has fluid rhythm to load. Barrel delivery is short/quick with aggression as he connects with power driving to all parts of the field. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

06/21/2021 - USA Baseball 17U Championships Ethan is an outfielder who will be graduating in the class of 2022. He has a medium build with plenty to room to fill out as he continues to mature. In the outfield, he shows a good ability to stay athletic and keep his feet active during his pre pitch routine. He does a good job of getting behind the baseball and working through it to throw. He shows good instincts and gets very good reads off the bat. At the plate, he continues to show his feel for the game and willingness to help the team succeed. Shows great strike zone awareness, walking 3 times throughout the weekend along with other at bats that went deep into the count. He sets up in an even and athletic stance with loose hands before showing a simple and repeatable load/stride. Does a good job tracking the ball deep into his barrel and stays in the middle of the field. Top of the order type of guy who plays the game with velocity. Ethan is great kid and arguably even better teammate who had high praises from all coaches, with this attitude and continued development he should be able to play at the next level.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (TX) Ethan is an athletic OF/3B prospect who continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. At the plate, this LHH shows an advanced approach through an open setup. He stays direct through the ball with fast bat speed and hits against a strong front side, producing loud contact and great pull side power. In the field, Ethan shows active footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate/on-line throws through his target. Overall, Ethan is a talented prospect who has the skill set to excel at the next level.

09/30/2020 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Ethan is an athletic OF prospect who showed well during the Arizona Fall Classic. In the field, Ethan shows smooth footwork and works behind fly balls well. He gets into an athletic position and fields ground balls out in front with soft, sure hands. His exchange is quick and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He gets his hands activated on time and hits against a strong front side. He gets good extension through the ball and shows plus barrel control, leading to strong line drives. Overall, Ethan is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Ethan is a coachable OF/C prospect who showed well during the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. In the field, Ethan shows active footwork and is agile moving to the ball. He fields the ball out in front of his body and makes a clean exchange. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a crouched stance and takes a short stride. He gets his hands activated on time in a small load and remains centered in his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with plus bat speed, leading to line drives and good raw pop. Overall, Ethan is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his sophomore season.

09/25/2019 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Ethan is a coachable C/OF prospect who showed well during the Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic. Behind the plate, Ethan sits in a low stance and tracks the ball into his glove well. He gains ground when blocking and keeps the ball in front of him. He gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate through the 2B bag. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He shows on time rhythm and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a smooth swing with fast bat speed, leading to consistent contact and line drives. Overall, Ethan is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his sophomore season.

01/18/2019 - 2019 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Ethan shined once again at the All American Preseason Rookie tournament. In the OF, he displays fluid / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Hands / feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and zip to his target. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop.

12/02/2018 - College PREP - Sacramento, CA Ethan is an athletic OF/C prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. Behind the plate, Ethan sits in an athletic primary stance and presents a good target to the pitcher. He shows active footwork and is agile when moving to block. He makes a quick exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly on his throws to 2B, getting good carry through the bag. In the OF, Ethan shows efficient footwork and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets in a square position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He gains momentum well on his throws and works to keep them accurate to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a tall stance and leads well with his lower half. He takes a level swing with fast bat speed which leads to consistent contact and gap to gap pop. Overall, Ethan is a talented prospect who will be one to follow going into his freshman season.

09/26/2018 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Ethan is a coachable OF prospect who showed well during his time at the Arizona Freshman Fall Classic. In the field, Ethan shows active footwork and is very agile covering ground. He gets into an athletic position and makes the routine plays. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and maintains center balance. He is fluid getting into his load and hits from a strong front side. He gets good extension on his swing with fast bat speed which leads to hard contact and solid power. Ethan went 5 for 12 during the tournament with one double and 3 RBI's. Overall, Ethan is a talented prospect who will be one to follow as he progresses.

07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Ethan is a talented OF/C prospect who has a strong, projectable build. In the field, Ethan plays with an aggressive approach and quick first step. He has quick, active footwork and agile actions as he covers good ground. Ethan presents his glove and fields the ball in an athletic position. He has a long exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from an over the top arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing strong, accurate throws. As a left-handed hitter, Ethan has an open setup with a centered balance. He has smooth rhythm with a good load and on-time stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Ethan shows fast bat speed with an on-plane swing path producing hard contact. He has good pitch selection and grinds out ABs. Ethan has the ability to drive the ball to the pull side with power. Overall, Ethan has an above average skill set and is a prospect to watch.

06/20/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series (Ages 12-14) Ethan is a coachable OF/C prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Baseball Factory Select Training at the College World Series. In the field, Ethan shows fluid footwork and is very agile ranging to the ball. He gets into an athletic position and fields with soft hands. He has a clean exchange with a quick release on his throws, keeping them accurate with good carry through his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a short stride. He is smooth getting into his load and comes through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with explosive bat speed which leads to line drives and solid pop. With four more years to develop, Ethan has the time and potential to further progress his kills on the field.

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Ethan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and he shows a tremendous future on diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.19. In the OF, he displays fluid / athletic actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He reads balls well off the bat works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate, flashing carry but he will benefit by getting on a long toss program to aid in building more arm strength. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. With 4 years to further develop, Ethan has the makings of a special type player with time and room to progress his game.

12/03/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Sacramento, CA Ethan is a talented OF/C who can play the game. Defensively in the OF, he takes active routes with (+) range as he tracks down fly balls. He comes up with a clean exchange and will gun out runners with his strong arm. Behind the plate, he presents a low target with quick footwork. He sticks pitches with a soft mitt and has a quick exchange to throw. As a hitter, Ethan has smooth rhythm with balance. He whips his barrel on a short path fast through the zone and drives pitches on a line with hard contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
