06/18/2021 - Baseball Factory All-State Tournament (HS) Ethan is a SS who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame thin build with plenty of physical projection remaining. At SS, starts with active feet and a good pre-pitch routine. Creates good angles and fields from the ground up. Clean/quick transfer and throws from multiple arm slots. Accurate and online throws across the diamond at 80mph. A right-handed hitter hits from an athletic and open stance. Simple load, with short stride, as he takes an aggressive swing. Showed ability to hit line drives to the middle of field. Made consistent contact throughout the weekend with a bat exit velocity of 74mph. With continued growth and development, we see Ethan having a bright future on the baseball field.

07/21/2019 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Ethan is an athletic SS/OF that showed good speed running a 6.94 second 60. At SS, Ethan showed athletic and effective footwork with agile range. He fields the ball square getting the glove down on time with relaxed hands. He shows clean exchanges while creating momentum towards his target delivering accurate throws with a quick arm action. At the dish, Ethan sets up square with comfortable hands. He keeps his stride centered as he is aggressive to deliver the barrel to the ball. His contact is hard, showing good pop to the pull side. Getting a little more fluid will allow Ethan to become a better hitter to all fields. Ethan shows aggressiveness on the basepaths as well as being a solid OF tracking the ball well. Getting more reps and stable in his core will improve Ethan's game. Ethan's hustle and IQ on the bases will be a great attribute to his game as he develops.

04/14/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Fayetteville, AR Ethan is a young, solid, 2-way player who plays OF and SS. In the OF, Ethan has firm hands, athletic actions, and good lateral range. He covers ground, fields in a square position, and has a clean exchange with accuracy from a quick release to his target. At SS, Ethan has active feet, good lateral movements, and he fields in a low/athletic position. He has good range, a quick exchange, and a quick/consistent arm across the diamond. At the plate, Ethan has a square/athletic set-up, he swings aggressively, and he lets the ball travel. He has good strike zone awareness, and he taps into some lower body. Ethan can continue to improve skills with work on the following.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
