01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Ethan is a long lean 2019 outfielder. A talented fielder, he has a strong arm and is aggressive to ground balls, plays them off of the correct foot and plays through the ball well. At the plate, Ethan has a balanced opposite field approach and drives the ball to all fields. We look forward to seeing what the future holds for Ethan.

10/18/2017 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Ethan continues to show the makings of a special type player at the next level. He did show on the mound for the first time at the event. In the OF, actions are smooth, clean, and quick. He reads balls well off the bat and utilizes his athletic feet well in tracking down balls through proper routes/angles. Range is a plus as he utilizes his tremendous foot speed in covering a lot of ground. He works behind the baseball and plays through with momentum to his target. Hands/feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with outstanding arm strength with throws showing life and on line carry. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared/athletic setup. Hands are quick (84 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength and shows a feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 78-79 mph. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with flashes of tight spin. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Ethan is a talented prospect who can make things happen in a variety of ways on the diamond.

09/24/2017 - College PREP - Scranton, PA Ethan is an athletic OF who swings from the left side. Defensively, Ethan has quick/efficient footwork, he moves with good agility to the ball, and his hands are soft and sure. He has athletic actions, reads the ball off the bat well, and delivers the ball with carry and accuracy from a long/loose arm action to his target. Offensively, Ethan has a tall/athletic set-up, he swings in good rhythm, and stands in well balanced. He has a short swing, fast bat speed, and gets good extension through the ball. Ethan can improve offensively with a more level stroke and not pulling off the ball.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
