Official Scouting Report

  • 6Class Rating
  • RHPPosition Projection

12/27/2019 - College PREP - Rindge, NH Ethan is a strong and athletic RHP that will graduate in 2020. On the mound, Ethan shows a 3-pitch mix with a FB, CB, and CH. The FB is consistent with a high volume of strikes, the CB is 11-5 with early break, and the CH is deceptive with FB arm speed. Pitching, he gathers over the rubber well as he separates with a clean arm action. He keeps his stride square as he works down the mound and lands under control. Getting more extension out in front of his body will allow Ethan to be more consistent with his breaking pitches. At the dish, Ethan sets up slightly closed as he shifts his weight back to start his load. He works hard to get his lower half through and shows fast bat speed with short path to the ball. His contact is square showing a line drive approach. Ethan shows the ability to be an effective pitcher that can also create production at the plate.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
