Exclusive College Recruiting Program an athletic potential two-way player who has loose actions within a smaller frame who has performed on the highly competitive Florida HS and Florida travel ball scene. At the plate he has a short balanced LH stroke with an approach to use the whole field and stay on the baseball. He has a great awareness of his strengths as a hitter and his top of the order table setter profile. His power plays doubles to the gaps with his athleticism allowing him to turn balls to RCF and the RF line into triples. Defensively, he is smooth with his actions very fluid in his routes to the ball in the air and on the ground. His arm plays average and profiles best in CF (primary position) or LF (secondary position), but his IQ and awareness allow for him to stick in CF. He has dropped his 60 time down to a 7.0 range and continues to develop his speed and strength over the course of the next 6 months to add muscle and explosiveness to his athletic frame. On the mound he works from a ¾ slot with an easy arm action and good use of his lower half. Throws a 3 pitch mix of FB/CHG and is developing a CB. He throws a ton of strikes and works off command and aggressiveness in his pitching. Reliever profile with potential starter.

09/26/2021 - National Evaluation and Tryout - Jupiter, FL Ethan is an OF prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the OF, Ethan shows proper footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he gains ground well on his throws, keeping them accurate/on-line to his target. Long tossing can help Ethan build up his arm strength. At the plate, this LHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth to load and engages his lower half well, driving the ball to his pull side. Ethan can barrel up more baseballs by working through a shorter swing path. Overall, Ethan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

07/27/2021 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (HS) Ethan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he reads balls well off the bat and takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind ball and plays through with momentum to his target. He utilizes his quick feet well in covering a lot of ground in the OF. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick as he squares the ball up consistently driving it on a line. At the plate, he was 3 for 4 with a 2B, 3B, HR, and 5 BB. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 77 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/10/2021 - All-In Membership - Jupiter, FL Ethan is an OF/LHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the diamond. In the OF, Ethan shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate/on-line throws to his target. At the plate, this LHH sets up in an athletic stance and is fluid to load. He drives through well with his lower half and produces strong contact to his pull side. On the mound, Ethan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline toward the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Ethan operates with a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 74mph with sinking action. Breaking ball sits from 60-62mph with 1-7 break. Changeup sits from 67-69mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Overall, Ethan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

12/12/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Pompano Beach, FL Ethan is a lean OF who will graduate in 2023. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 3 years to further develop, Ethan has potential with time and room to improve his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
