10/03/2018 - Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic Evan is a coachable SS prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Arizona Sophomore Fall Classic. In the field, Evan shows active footwork and flashes good lateral range. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front with soft hands. He makes a clean exchange and keeps his throws accurate and on-line across the diamond. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He is fluid getting into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a short swing with explosive bat speed which leads to square contact and solid line drives. Overall, Evan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

02/24/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Sioux Falls, SD Evan is a talented SS/OF prospect who has skill on both sides of the ball. As a right-handed hitter, Evan has a square, athletic stance with a firm front side. He stays balanced and shows fast bat speed. Evan has a direct, on-plane swing path producing hard contact. He has a line drive approach and the ability to drive the ball to the pull side. In the field, Evan plays with quick, fluid footwork and agile actions reading the ball well. He presents his glove and fields the baseball in a low, square position. Evan has a quick, clean exchange leading into a long, loose arm action throwing from an over the top arm slot. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing consistently strong, accurate throws. Overall, Evan is a well-rounded prospect who has skill to make an impact at the next level.

09/27/2017 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic Evan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At 2B, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he plays through a low approach. Glove action is soft / clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved as well through an athletic setup. Hands are loose and quick, working through a level swing path. He shows good rhythm and has a solid approach at the plate. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he has strength in his swing. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap-to-gap pop. At the event, he was 3 for 8 with a 2B and 2 sacrifice flies. Mental makeup is a plus as he shows good aptitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

07/29/2016 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 Evan continues to show steady progress in his baseball abilities. At SS, he displays smooth, fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he attacks balls and squares up well with his body. Hands are clean as he presents on time and out front. He shows off his athletic ability on his turns and feeds of the double play. Increasing foot quickness will aid in improving range. Hands and feet work well together as he gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy on his throws. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He works to keep hands inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he works to utilize his lower half more aggressively. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be. Overall, Evan is a talented young prospect who will be a name to follow as he continues to develop.

02/27/2016 - Interactive Video Program - Sioux Falls, SD Evan is an athletic 2-way player (SS/OF) who showed well on the diamond. With the bat, this righty stands in well with centered balance and a solid base. He swings against a firm front side, engages his lower 1/2 and whips the barrel through the zone with speed. He squares the ball up and hits line-drives consistently. At SS - Evan has active prep and moves lightly on the balls of his feet. He has plus lateral range, makes the plays with soft/sure hands and has a quick exchange to throw. In the OF, he takes a quick first step and tracks down fly-balls with speed. He works behind the through the ball and accurate throws into his target. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
