07/09/2011 - Team One West 2011 Evan is a two-way player at 2B and on the mound with a solid, average frame. Currently, he projects best at 2B for the next level. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 6.78 60 time. Feet are active and aggressive as he attacks ground balls while playing through with his body. He moves well laterally displaying range. Hands are soft, clean, and sure as he makes all the plays. Throws are accurate with life and on line carry into his target as he throws from all arm angles. He shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Offensively, Cassolato shows a balanced approach and displays a level swing path. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed as he shows a solid feel for the barrel with baseball jumping off his bat when centered. Power numbers will continue to increase as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently through the swing. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 81-82 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with tight spin and late breaking action. Command and control and be an issue at times with stock rising quickly on the mound as he develops more arm strength through a long toss program. Evan has a lot of potential and will catch the eyes of the collegiate coaches with his offensive and defensive abilities.
