05/16/2021 - All-In Membership - Orange (Los Angeles), CA Evan is a C/OF prospect who will graduate in 2022. Medium frame, well-proportioned, and athletic build with strength present. Ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, showed quick feet and a cannon for an arm. Quiet movements as he beats ball to spot and presents low target for pitchers to throw to. Quick transfer and has good direction to second base. Creates blocking angles and covers the 5 hole well. Consistent throws, with good carry, and an arm velocity that touched 94mph with pop times as low as 1.94 seconds. Secondary OF, starts with active and quick feet with good 1st step reads. Creates good angles as he works behind and through the baseball. Clean gather on the left side and then creates momentum into a quick release. Accurate throws, with good carry on the baseball, all the way to target. Right-handed hitter, starts with an upright and athletic stance. Smooth swing, with quick hands, and ability to stay inside ball. Makes hard contact out front, with late barrel whip, as he hit line drives to all fields. Bat exit velocity of 87mph during his round of BP. With continued growth and development, we foresee Evan having opportunities to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
