01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Evan is a stud two-way prospect (RHP/2B) in his class with a good feel for the game and competitive mindset. On the mound, he has a composed poise and good mound presence. FB is sneaky quick on hitters and has life, ranging 84-87 with good command. CB is his best pitch and uses it to get ahead in counts, showing 10-4 shape with sharp break. He commands the ball well and mixes his pitches effectively. At 2B, he uses fluid actions and smooth footwork to field the position at a high level. His agility allows him to create good range and make tough plays. He approaches and fields the ball in an athletic position, using soft hands to create a clean exchange. Release is quick and throws are strong/accurate with the ability to throw from multiple arm angles (87 mph). At the plate, Evan uses a square/balanced setup with smooth actions and a good approach. Hands are explosive/fast with an on-plane swing path creating good extension to consistently square the ball up. He can hit to all parts of the field with pop (exit velo = 86 mph). Evan is a talented athlete in the 2022 class with next level ability.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Evan continues to show as a top prospect with improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a 6.81 runner. At SS, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with on line zip (85 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, hitting / power potential have improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (91 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel with gap-to-gap pop. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
