02/15/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Parker (Denver), CO Evan is a tall, athletic SS/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he displays smooth / fluid actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. Feet are active as he works to get behind balls and plays with momentum to his target. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. At SS, feet are aggressive as he works around balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / clean and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with on line carry (84 mph velocity) across the diamond but needs to work to get rid of the baseball quicker. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. With 2 years to further develop, Evan has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
