07/17/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 1 (Ages 12-14) Evan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a tall, squared setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. He utilizes his feet well in covering a lot of ground and makes the routine plays. He shows good game awareness and does a nice job of backing up bases. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

05/20/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Redwood City (San Francisco/San Jose), CA Evan is a young SS with a scrappy/aggressive game. Defensively, Evan has active feet, agile movements, and his hands are soft and sure. He has good pre-pitch actions, fields in a low position, and delivers the ball with accuracy across the diamond. Offensively, Evan has a square set-up, he loads well, and can spray to all fields. He hits line drives, has a good finish, and hustles down the line. Evan can continue to improve skills with work on the following.

Defense
1. AA
2. Release
3. Fielding position
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Barrel accuracy
3. Timing

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
