Official Scouting Report

  • 4Class Rating
  • C/RHPPosition Projection

01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Evan is an athletic 2025 C/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Recruiting Classic. Behind the plate, he starts in a strong position and presents a good target to pitcher. He throws from a high arm slot and has a 2-handed exchange. Evan does a great job blocking. He centers his body, has a good chin tuck, and has a great spine angle. His top pop time was 2.18 seconds. At the plate, he has a closed stance and a small load. His smooth and on-plane swing path allows him to produce line drives. His top exit velocity was 85 mph. He attacks the inside pitch well and shows some pop to the pull-side. On the mound, he showed 2 pitches. His fastball had good run and a top velocity of 82 mph. He paired that with breaking ball that had 11-5 break. Evan has good tempo and had some deception with his arm slot. In game, he had great balance and had a good stride line towards the plate. With another year to develop, we expect to see Evan continue to grow and mature.

01/20/2020 - Interactive Video Program - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Evan is a thin, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Evan has active feet, good pre-pitch actions, and he fields athletically. He makes plays cleanly, his exchange is quick, and he delivers the ball with carry and accuracy from a short arm action across the diamond. On the mound, Evan has good balance and a clean arm circle. He keeps his eyes on target, lands with a proper length stride toward home, and he competes in the zone. Offensively, Evan has a square/athletic stance, good balance, and he keeps a still head. He works the middle of the field, makes hard contact, and hits the ball gap to gap. Overall skills can continue to get better with work on the following.

2. Hands

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
