06/26/2018 - Interactive Video Program - New Britain, CT Evan showed nice overall improvements during his last workout in New Britain. He increased velocity to 66 MPH, arm grade to 42, and hitting to 45. At SS, Evan has active/fluid feet, soft hands, and he takes good angles to the baseball. He presents his glove well, has a quick/clean exchange, and throws with carry across the diamond. On the mound, Evan has a smooth delivery, a free/clean arm action, and he gets good extension on his pitches. He separates on time, lands in a square direction toward home, and finishes completely. At the plate, Evan has an athletic set-up, good balance, and a quiet/simple approach. He stays connected, works the ball gap to gap, and he uses his lower body.

06/20/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Bridgeport, CT Evan is an athletic, 3B/RHP. Defensively at 3B, he takes a prep step and displays solid footwork. He fields GB's athletically with soft hands and has a clean exchange to throw. On the mound, this righty is a reliever type pitcher as he pounds the zone with strikes. He delivers a 3-pitch mix with clean arm action and repeats his delivery. With the bat, Evan shows a balanced setup with a smooth/quiet load. He uses a middle of the field approach as he drives pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Improve DP footwork
2. Develop softer hands
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. More lower 1/2 drive
2. Develop CB
3. Finish strong
Offense
1. Keep weight back
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Improve bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "present" abilities (tools), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year, using the scale below. However, grades 10-18 are not available for use with High School players (ages 14-18), while grades 55-70 are not available for use with Pre High School players (ages 12-14). These instances are marked as "--- N/A ---" in the "Description" fields below.
