Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • 3B/RHPPosition Projection

09/15/2019 - Accelerated College PREP - Indianapolis, IN Evan is a RHP/3B prospect who will graduate in 2022. On the mound, Evan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He stays inline towards the plate and finishes with his chest over his front knee. Evan shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 69mph. Breaking ball sits from 58-60mph with 10-4 break. Changeup sits from 66-67mph with arm side run as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Loosening his arm action can help Evan improve as a pitcher. In the field, Evan shows efficient footwork and covers ground well. He gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. Evan can improve defensively by getting into a lower fielding position. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a short stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and makes solid contact. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Evan improve as a hitter. Overall, Evan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further develop his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
