11/18/2018 - College PREP - Germantown (Memphis), TN Evan continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the dish, pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.47 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and he works to get rid of the baseball quicker. Glove action is soft / clean with setup improving as he improves his flexibility. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but will benefit by getting down sooner and creating better angles. At the plate, he shows a squared / athletic setup with balance. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

02/24/2018 - Mid Atlantic Regional Accelerated Pitching & Catching Weekend (Ages 12-14) Evan is a hard working and talented 2022 Catching prospect that made several adjustments during the catching and pitching accelerated training weekend. Behind the dish, Evan keeps his eyes on his target and fields his position well. Continuing to be in an athletic primary and secondary will allow him to work behind the ball when receiving. Anticipating balls in the dirt and leading with his glove to block will allow him to be on time and control the ball with his chest. Evan will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/10/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Nyack (NYC), NY Evan is a young (2022 grad) R/R 2-way player as a C/3B. With the bat, this RHH has an athletic/square setup with rhythm to load. He whips the barrel on a level path and looks to drive the middle of the field. Behind the plate, Evan sits in well with a wide base and presents a low target. He tracks pitches into his mitt and sticks them. Throws to 2B are accurate with pop times of 2.72. At 3B, he has active prep and works around the GB. He can make the backhand play smoothly, has a clean exchange with accuracy on his throws. Continuing to work on the following will aid in his overall development on the diamond.

Offense
1. Swing against firm front side
2. Shorten stride
3. Contact points
Catching
1. Arm strength (long toss)
2. Lateral quickness
3. Follow through on throw
Infield
1. Glove presentation
2. Avoid glove pat
3. Quicker release

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
