Official Scouting Report

  • Class Rating
  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

09/02/2022 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) with Video Showcase Evan is an athletic OF/RHP in the 2023 class. In the field, he plays on the balls of his feet and his feet are active. Displays excellent arm strength (84 arm velo) and releases from a high ¾ slot. Can cover real estate by registering 7.12 60 yd dash and proves to play all 3 spots. Working to stay lower and get behind the ball more will allow more forward progress and further depth on his throws back to the dirt to stop the free 90’s. On the mound, he pounds the zone and his misses are just outside the black. Has great composure and a feel for pitching. He uses a two-pitch mix to keep hitters off balance. His FB topped at 77 and can be thrown to both sides of the plate. His breaking pitch sat 59-62 with 11-5 shape and medium break. At the plate, he barrel simply finds the baseball. He can spray it to all fields and his swing path is on plane. Displays fluid actions in the box and looks comfortable with his swing. Overall, Evan is a solid two-way prospect and scouts feel he should have a great final high school season.

07/21/2022 - Baseball Factory National World Series at IMG Academy - Session 2 (HS) Evan is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who showcased his skills during the National World Series. In the field, Evan is agile covering ground and fields the ball out in front of his body. His exchange is clean and he gets rid of the ball quickly, making accurate throws with carry through his target. Beating fly balls to their spot can help Evan make more plays. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a controlled stride. He works through a smooth swing with good extension and plus barrel control, spraying line drives to all fields. Evan can generate more pop off the barrel by driving his lower half more. On the mound, Evan gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and accelerates through his release, finishing with a controlled landing. Evan operates with a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 77mph. Breaking ball sits from 61-64mph with 11-5 break. Striding inline toward the plate can help Evan improve his pitch command. Overall, Evan is a solid prospect who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

11/28/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Sanford (Orlando), FL Evan is an OF/RHP who will graduate in 2023. Medium frame athletic build, with high waist, and strength present. In the OF, showed efficient footwork and ability to cover ground in all directions. Aggressive routes enable him to create good fielding angles as he works behind and through the ball. Showed ability to flip his hips and go get balls. A 2-hand exchange as he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with accurate/on-line throws into infield at 81mph. On the mound, this right-handed pitcher has a good rear hip coil and keeps his eyes on target. He gathers over rubber and rotates to target with good direction down the mound. Has a quick/clean arm stroke who accelerates out front. Attacks hitters with his FB that sits 74-76mph, a 12/6 shaped breaking ball that has tight spin with good depth, and a changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. CB was best pitch during his bullpen. A right-handed hitter, starts with a tall and square stance. Square glide step, with knob to C, and stays in his legs throughout swing. A direct barrel path, with good extension, as he hit line drives into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 83mph. As he continues to develop and mature, we see him making huge strides on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
