01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament
Evan continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Behind the plate, pop times were in the 2.03 range with accuracy and zip (87 mph velocity) on his throws. Feet are active, working in line to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. He plays with a ton of energy and shows the ability to handle a pitching staff with his receiving / blocking skills. At the plate, he continues to shine. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work inside the baseball as he utilizes all fields. Barrel accuracy is a plus with baseball jumping off the bat when centered with power showing best to the pull side. A projectable catcher, Evan has a ton of potential and will get looks from the college coaches with his baseball abilities.
01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament
Evan is a very hard working player who has progressed nicely and showed well during his time at the All-America Pre-Season Rookie event. At SS, he shows his athleticism with quick actions as he covers ground laterally and works around the GB from right to left. Hands are soft as he gathers well and fires strong/accurate throws across the diamond. With the bat, this righty has fluid rhythm to load while maintaining centered balance. He whips the barrel at pitches he likes, squares the ball up and connects creating solid contact. He proved to be a tough out and battled in every at-bat. On the mound, this RHP fills up the zone with strikes and challenges hitters. He maintains good tempo and works at his pace. Separation is smooth as he stays directional toward the dish. FB now tops out at 80 mph while showing slight cut. Breaking ball has 10/4 shape with good action - complimenting his FB well. Only a 2021 grad - Evan will only continue to build strength and develop his tools. He is one to keep an eye on.
09/26/2015 - Pitching & Catching Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 12-14)
Evan's track record shows that he is getting better with every event. He has a high baseball IQ and is always thinking ahead. He is a very athletic player who can move well behind the dish. He is coachable and applies what he's taught very quickly.Fine skill athletic development will come as he continutes to get older and physically stronger. Evan is a gamer who has a bright future ahead of him.
12/20/2014 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 1
Evan is a hard working player who is coachable and applies what he is taught. Behind the plate, this defensive specialist works quickly around pitches int he dirt and centers the ball off of his chest. He is quick to his feet and keeps runners from advancing. He shows high baseball IQ and is always thinking a play ahead. With the bat, he displays a simple/quiet setup with smooth actions. Swing path is level to and through the zone as he connects and hits line drives. A shorter/more direct swing path will result in harder contact. Ulrich is a versatile athlete who can make things happen on the diamond.
08/03/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Dublin (Columbus), OH
Evan continues to work hard on his game. At the plate, this RHH shows an aggressive approach as he steps into the box looking to his. He connects with plus barrel accuracy, consistently squaring the ball up. Behind the plate, Evan sits in well with and athletic setup. He gains ground toward his target and puts the ball on the bag. On the bump, this RHP has good rhythm as he works to a controlled balance point. He drives of the rubber in-line toward the dish and throws strikes. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Evan continues to show plus skills on the diamond. This athletic backstop makes things happen both offensively and defensively. He sits in quietly with simple actions and moves with good flexion. He gains ground toward his target and works in-line toward 2B when throwing down. With the bat, he shows best from the right side where he has a well balanced approach. He has plus barrel accuracy and squares the ball up consistently.
09/21/2013 - Infield Accelerated Training Weekend (Ages 12-14)
Evan is a smooth little middle infielder with great potential to be a solid defensive player. He shows solid mechanically, and also shows great knowledge of the game, with the ability to make adjustments. With Evans athleticism he only going to improve as he gets bigger and stronger. Evan needs to focus on taking his time in the infield, he tends to rush on ground balls which causes him to field it a little tall and deep at times. When he rushes he can't control his body which takes away from his athleticism in the infield. Clean is quick and quick is rushed.
09/01/2012 - Hitting Accelerated Training Weekend (Commuter) (Ages 12-14)
Evan is a young player who shows a lot of potential. His mechanics are strong for such a young player and will continue to see improvements with strength and physical maturity. He displays a great feel for the swing and was able to make adjustments over the weekend. Evan has great hand action and a good barrel delivery. His lower half gets through with a smooth load getting his hands back into a strong position. Evan shows consistent contact with and sprays the ball to all fields. One thing he struggled with early on was making sure his front foot stayed closed. He started working on a toe tap in his load to make sure his foot got square. This did seem to get him square but he must continue to work on the timing of the toe tap to make sure he is comfortable with it moving forward. At times it can get difficult to implement that at a young age but Evan showed the ability to make it work. With plenty of time before high school, Evan shows abilities time for growth over the next couple of years.
