03/02/2019 - Mid Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Evans is a coachable OF prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and works to barrel up the baseball. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Evans improve as a hitter. With five more years to develop, Evans has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

12/08/2018 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Hitting Weekend (Ages 12-14) Evans is an athletic and hard working 2024 prospect that made several adjustments throughout the Mid Atlantic Hitting Weekend. At the plate, Evans starts in a closed stance, starts his hands in a low position, and tries to create separation in his load. He needs to continue to load his hands back into the drive position, attack the inside part of the ball, and keep his head down at contact. Continuing to create backside rotation with his lower half, load knee to knee in his lower half, and staying balanced through contact will allow him to drive the ball to all fields. Evans will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

10/14/2018 - Interactive Video Program - Uniondale (Long Island), NY Evans is a lean, 2-way player who plays OF and 3B. In the OF, Evans has quick/fluid feet, agile movements, and a good 1st step to the ball. He makes plays, has a quick/clean exchange, and throws with accuracy and carry to his target. At 3B, Evans has fluid footwork, presentable hands, and he fields in a low position. He has a clean exchange and a short/accurate arm with momentum toward his target. Offensively, Evans has a closed stance, he loads well, and he stands in well balanced. He puts the bat on the ball and uses some lower body. Overall skills can get better if Evans can work on the following.

Outfield
1. Play more through
2. Fielding position
3. Aggressiveness
Infield
1. Strength
2. Throw downhill
3. Widen fielding base
Offense
1. Bat speed
2. Lower body
3. Timing

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
