11/13/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - North Branford, CT Fayz continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, he shows a controlled, repeatable delivery allowing his quick arm action to work well to the plate. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 83 mph. Fastball showed a range of 80-83 mph. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup. Off speed stuff show as quality pitches that will get outs. Control is solid as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches. He shows a great feel for pitching and maintains composure on the bump. At the plate, hitting/power potential is now outstanding through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (86 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He swings with intent and has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. Lower half works well through the swing and shows a feel for the barrel. Fays has upside on the mound and will get looks from collegiate coaches as he continues to progress his game.

11/07/2020 - Official Player Development Membership - East Hampton (Hartford), CT Fayz is a LHP prospect who continues to showcase his skills on the field. On the mound, Fayz gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a quick arm and finishes square to the plate. Fayz shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 70mph. Breaking ball sits from 59-63mph with 2-8 break. Changeup sits from 64-65mph with sinking action as he throws with deceptive arm speed. Striding square toward the plate can help Fayz improve his pitch command. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He is smooth to load and leads well with his lower half. He works through a level swing and produces solid line drives to all fields. Fayz can be more controlled throughout his swing by maintaining center balance. With five more years to develop, Fayz has the time and potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
