01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Felix is a hard working two way 2019 grad. Defensively he works well up the middle at 2B. Has very active feet, works to create angles, plays the ball out in front and has a clean exchange to throw. Good accurate arm allows him to make all the plays. At the plate, has an open stance, creates good rhythm with a small load and gets his foot down in time often. Makes hard contact consistently and can spray the ball to all fields. On the mound, Felix is a two-pitch RHP. Fastball ranges from 81-83mph with some tail movement. Keep his delivery simple and controlled allowing him to stay consistent and keep hitters off balance with his 67-69 mph Curveball. Breaking pitch has 10-4 shape and use as an out pitch. Struck out 4 in 3 innings at the event.

10/10/2018 - Arizona Senior Fall Classic Felix continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a plus feel for the barrel with power showing best to the pull side. At 2B, he continues to shine, displaying smooth / clean actions. He attacks ground balls and moves well laterally, displaying range. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process and he shows off his athletic abilities on his feeds / turns of the double play. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. On the mound, fastball shows a range of 75-76 mph. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Control is well above average as he throws strikes with all his pitches, working to get ahead of hitters. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude and is very coachable as he works hard to be the best player he can be.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Felix continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. At the plate, he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack with gap-to-gap pop. In the 2B, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws to his target. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 71-75 mph with tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He slows his arm speed on his changeup, tipping off pitch to hitters. Control is well above average as he attacks hitters and throws strikes with all his pitches.

10/25/2017 - Under Armour SoCal Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Felix is a versatile, two-way prospect who has shown good development since we last saw him. He has become a very solid defender at second with feel for the position to make tough plays. He changes his arm slot to make accurate throws from any positon. He has active feet to extend his range and makes good DP feeds with clean, quick hands to get rid of the ball. At the plate, he has simple mechanics with a compact swing that is level to the ball to make line drive contact. He is aggressive on the fastball, looking for a pitch to drive and has fast bat speed through the zone to make consistent, hard contact (86mph exit velo). On the bump, this RHP creates a good, downward angle on his pitches to work down in the zone with good movement. His curveball is a put away pitch with sharp action down in the zone to get swings and misses. Felix is a talented player with a high baseball IQ who would be a welcome addition on any team.

07/19/2017 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 16U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Felix is a talented 2B/RHP prospect who has a versatile skill set and athletic build. In the field, Felix plays with effective footwork and smooth rhythm. He presents his glove and fields the ball athletically in a square position. Felix has a long arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. His throws have good carry across the diamond and he is developing accuracy. Offensively, Felix has an open, athletic stance with a firm front side and centered balance. He has fluid rhythm with a good load and short, on-time stride. Felix shows fast bat speed with a short, direct swing path. He obtains extension at contact with good rotation in his swing. Felix is a line drive type hitter who has a middle of the field approach. On the mound, Felix has a balanced delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has a clean arm action with a consistent release point. Felix stays square to home plate and has an effective front side. He commands his fastball and shows potential with his curveball. Overall, Felix has a well-rounded skill set with a good approach giving him upside on the diamond.

03/19/2017 - National Tryout Plus - Monterey Park (Los Angeles), CA Felix is an athletic built RHP/SS prospect who has talent on both sides of the ball. On the mound, Felix has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a 3/4 arm slot. He has a quick arm action and extends through his release. Felix has good tail on his fastball, a 12-6 curveball and developing changeup. Offensively, Felix has an athletic setup. He has a fluid load with an on-time stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Felix flashes fast bat speed with a short, direct swing path. He stays behind the baseball and produces hard, consistent contact. Felix is a line drive hitter who has the ability to drive the ball to each gap. In the field, Felix plays with effective pre-pitch actions and takes the correct angles to cover good ground. He is light on his feet and plays with good body control. He fields the ball squarely and receives it with a firm glove. Felix throws with a short arm action from a high 3/4 slot producing accurate results. Overall, Felix has good upside and can impact the game offensively and defensively.

04/10/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Costa Mesa (Los Angeles), CA Felix continues to show progress and steady play in his baseball abilities at the event. In the MIF, he moves well laterally, displaying range and shows fluid / smooth actions. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. Presenting his glove more out in front will help to avoid getting the ‘in between' hop. At the plate, he shows a closed stance and tracks the ball well. Hand are loose and work through a level / line drive path. He makes consistent contact, mainly to the pull side. Power will increase as he learns to utilize his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 68-71 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength which will aid in his development on the mound.

11/05/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Felix continues to develop his talents on the diamond. At the plate, Felix is an aggressive hitter with quiet head movement and a flat, long bat path showing extension through the zone. As he works to use his lower half, power will continue to rise. At SS, he is a reliable fielder that makes the routine plays. He fields from the ground up and works from right to left with momentum towards his target. Loosening up his arm and strengthening it will improve his defensive stock. On the mound, Felix is a ground ball pitcher with a mature 3-pitch mix. His FB sits in the high 60s with some movement, CB spins to the mitt with a 10-4 shape and a reliable splitter in the low 60s helps keep hitters off balance. He pounds the zone with the FB and mixes speeds and locations very well. In all, Felix is a coachable, mature player with next level tools as a 2019 grad.

09/13/2015 - National Tryout Plus - La Verne (Los Angeles), CA Felix showed as a SS/RHP and continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities at both positions. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date, now an above average runner at 7.22. Defensive grade has improved as well, displaying smooth / fluid actions. Hands / feet work well together through the fielding process. Feet are action as he works to get around ground balls and presents hands / glove well out front. At the plate, hands work through a level swing path through a solid base. Hands are loose as he makes consistent contact as works to stay inside the ball utilizing all fields. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to get stride foot down sooner to be on time. Power numbers will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more aggressively. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 71 mph. Fastball shows a range of 65-67 mph through a loose / easy arm motion. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on changeup but needs to develop more movement on pitch. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to throw more strikes.

01/16/2015 - Baseball Factory Spring Training in Arizona (Ages 12-14) Felix is a two way player who excels as a RHP. On the mound, Felix is very projectable. With a solid fastball which he controls very well and good offspeed he commands well, he continues to show promise. He gathers over the rubber and has a clean quick arm and smooth delivery. Felix has quality mound composure and competes each inning. Defensively, he is a middle infielder with good baseball instincts and works very well to his backhand side. At the plate, Felix has a slightly closed setup that works well. He drives through contact and works his backside through contact consistently. Felix plays the game with a great attitude and he looks to improve and be coachable each time out.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
