07/09/2019 - Accelerated Interactive Video Program - Trenton, NJ Fernando is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. In the field, Fernando shows active footwork and covers ground well. He gets into a square position and fields with a firm glove. He makes a quick exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate and on-line to his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He gets back into his load and drives through well with his lower half. He takes a direct swing with decent bat speed, leading to solid contact to all fields. On the mound, Fernando keeps his eyes on target and leads well with his glove side, staying inline towards the plate. His fastball tops out at 55mph. Overall abilities can improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. More athletic fielding position
2. Long toss
Hitting

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
