09/27/2015 - College PREP - Scranton, PA Fernando is a wide, strong 2016 grad projecting at 3B. Defensively, his hands are on time with some momentum towards 1B. His arm strength plays at the next level with accuracy. Developing softer hands and more mobility on the left side will help Fernando's skills take the next jump. At the plate, this RHH squares himself to the plate with an extremely strong lower 1/2. His actions are soft with a quiet, simple swing. He lives to the opposite field and shows tremendous pop (95 exit velo) to the gaps. Developing looser actions and increasing foot speed will help Fernando take his talents to the next level. Overall, Fernando is a strong, projectable framed athlete entering his final season.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
