12/27/2023 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Fernando is a 2025 SS that showed his talents at the BF Recruiting Classic. At SS, he starts in an athletic position and has quick feet. He has an athletic fielding position with hands in front of his body. He throws from a low ¾ arm slot and has accurate throws with a raw velocity of 85 mph. Throughout the entire event Fernando caught the eye of scouts with his glovework and quick actions. At the plate, he starts in an athletic stance with a comfortable hand position. He has an activated load with minimal wasted movement. He consistently hit balls hard in both batting practice and in the games. During the games, Fernando reached base 6 out of 7 times that he stepped to the plate. He picked up 3 hits, 2 walks, and a hit by pitch in that stretch. We are excited to see how Fernando progresses in the next year and will continue to see scouts keep an eye on him for the next level.

08/07/2023 - National Showcase - Houston, TX Fernando is a SS who will graduate in 2025. Tall frame athletic build, with high hips, and strength present. At SS, he starts with a good pre-pitch routine and has active feet. He takes aggressive angles towards baseball with the ability to make routine plays. He fields from a square fielding position, with his eyes behind his glove, and creates momentum through the baseball. Makes accurate throws from a high 3/4 arm slot, with a quick release, and an arm velocity up to 87mph across diamond. Good touch on his flip and follows. At the plate, he hits from an upright and open stance. A lower half driven swing with ability to control the barrel. Keeps his inside the baseball as he hit balls to the opposite field with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph. With 2 years of continued growth and development, Fernando should have a bright future on the baseball diamond.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
