12/27/2021 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Franco is a 2023 3B/RHP prospect who showcased his skills at the Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic. At 3B, he showed athletic actions, with quick/active footwork, and ability to cover ground. Good reads off bat enable him to create good fielding angles and ability to play through the ball. Show good glove action and fields the ball out front. Throws from an over-the-top arm slot with accurate throws across diamond and an arm velocity up to 84mph. Right-handed pitcher who starts square on the rubber and has simple rocker step. He has a controlled landing and gets his back leg through. Attacks hitters with a FB that topped out at 81mph with plus command, a 12/6 shaped breaking ball with good depth, and a changeup with some movement that he throws with FB arm speed. In 3 innings of work, he struck out 2 batters and threw 63% of his pitches for strikes. At the plate, this right-handed hitter begins with an upright and even stance with low hand set. Athletic setup, with center balance, and has natural juice in swing. Gets on-plane early as he hit hard line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 88mph. In live game action, he reached base 3 times with a double, a single, and was hit by a pitch. With another year of continued growth and development, we can see him making huge strides on the baseball field.

03/21/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - San Jose, CA Franco is a 2023 3B/RHP. Medium frame with an athletic build showing room to fill out physically, making him projectable. Primary 3B, bouncing around as he proved to have good lateral range and active feet. Clean glove work as he scoops it up with confidence and then shuffles into clean transfers. Proved he could change arm slots with accuracy as he threw it 78mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher, with a good setup and compact motion. Clean arm action as he released from a 3/4 arm slot. Does a good job keeping fastball at bottom of the zone with arm side run. Mixed in an 11/5 shaped curveball with medium depth. A developing changeup with slight downward action. Shows upside on the mound as he still has room to add physically. Right-handed hitter, starting with an even stance. Simple load, as he gets knob to C, with good hip rotation to contact point. Good extension and a high finish as he showed could drive it to all fields. Found barrels consistently while impacting the baseball out front. Excellent two-way potential and should tap into the tools soon to get him an opportunity to play at the next level.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
