03/10/2024 - National Showcase - Bronx, NY Frank continues to show as a top prospect with his baseball abilities on the diamond. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying excellent hitting abilities with near pro level power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He has strength in his swing (90 mph exit velocity) and makes consistent hard contact, driving the ball to all fields. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Receiving / blocking skills show as quality tools that will play well at the next level. Pop times showed in 2.05 range with accuracy on his throws. In the OF, defensive abilities are solid. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Overall, Frank is a talented prospect who has the skill set to contribute at the next level.

07/28/2023 - Baseball Factory National World Series at JRTC (HS) Frank continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.06 with accuracy / carry (80 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn. Mental makeup is a plus as he is a great teammate and is very coachable on the field.

07/12/2023 - National Showcase - Trenton, NJ Frank continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls well out front. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.15 with accuracy / carry (80 mph velocity) on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls but needs to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through the swing with an aggressive hip turn.

12/18/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Bronx, NY Frank showed a spike in hitting numbers and lowered pop times to 2.26 seconds during his last workout in The Bronx. At the plate, Frank has a square set-up, a repeatable swing, and good balance. He has a short/compact swing, he hits line drives, and makes solid contact. Behind the plate, Frank shows active feet, agile range, and his hands are firm. He lets the ball travel well, works around properly, and takes good angles to block. Frank has a short/quick arm action and throws accurately to his target. In the OF, Frank has active footwork and he tracks the ball well. He covers ground, works behind the ball well, and throws with accuracy and momentum to his cut off man.

08/28/2022 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Augusta, NJ Frank continues to shine on the diamond with his baseball abilities. Behind the plate he shows a squared setup and tracks the ball well with soft glove. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. Pop times showed in the 2.40 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. In the OF, he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work behind more to play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to shine through a tall setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

11/11/2021 - Baseball Factory Fall Select Tournament at Pirate City Frank continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. Behind the plate, feet are active as he works in line through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.45 with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program and works to get rid of the baseball quicker. He shows a solid setup, sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body through the blocking process but needs to work to get body down sooner. At the plate, he showed as RHH and has improved his hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 2 for 4. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, is very coachable, and plays with high energy.

10/23/2021 - Mid-Atlantic Regional Pitching/Catching Weekend (Ages 14-18) Frank is an athletic catcher who has a promising future on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. He uses his body through the blocking process but will benefit by creating better angles to center balls out front. Pop times showed in 2.75 range with accuracy on his throws. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength through a long toss. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. With 5 years to further develop, Frank has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
