01/12/2024 - 2024 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament Franklin is a 2026 SS/RHP who showcased his talents at the BF Pre-Season All-America Tournament. In the infield, he starts from an athletic position with quick feet. He has good range and soft hands. He throws from a 3/4 arm slot with accurate throws and good momentum across the infield. Franklin showed great athleticism in the infield and had a good feel for the position creating good angles. At the plate, the left-handed hitter starts from an athletic stance and a short stride. He has smooth rhythm and centered balance. Franklin does a good job getting his lower ½ through and has a direct swing path. During the game, he had a pair of hits and spread the ball around the field. On the mound, he threw a fastball and curveball. His fastball sat 78-80 mph and he was able to work it to both sides of the zone. His curveball had tight spin and a late break which kept hitters off balance. Franklin did a great job of getting extension to the plate and hid the ball well. With a few years to grow and mature we foresee Franklin continuing to excel on the baseball field.

10/08/2023 - National Showcase - Atlanta, GA Franklin is a 2026 LHH SS prospect with a lean, athletic frame at 5'9" 151 pounds. At short, he flashes active feet and good angles to the baseball to the backhand and glove side. He gets in a squared, athletic fielding position and presents his hands out in front when fielding. He has a clean exchange and makes consistent throws with a loose arm action. He does a nice job of making accurate flips on double play feeds. At the plate, he starts in a squared, athletic stance and gets a good load back. He has a fluid and smooth rhythm and timing and he does a great job of keeping his balance centered through contact. His lower half does a great job of working through the baseball and he shows off fast bat speed. His swing is on-plane and he has an aggressive mindset in the box while looking to attack the baseball. He makes hard, consistent contact and uses all fields. Franklin should continue to develop nicely and we are excited to see more of him in the future!

01/13/2023 - 2023 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Franklin is a 2026 SS who showcased his skills during the BF Rookie PSAA Tournament. At SS, he showed athletic actions, with smooth footwork, and creates good fielding angles. He closes distance on batted balls with ability to finish the play. Fields from a low fielding position, with hands out front, and has a 2-hand transfer. He showed ability to throw from multiple arm slots, with momentum to his target, and an arm velocity up to 75mph. At the plate, he hits from an athletic and closed stance with high hand set. He gets knob to C and is balanced at contact. He hit balls to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 70mph during BP. Franklin is a solid player who has the potential to further build upon his skills on the field.

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Franklin continues to show as a prospect with improvements his baseball abilities at the Preseason All American Rookie Showcase. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays fluid / smooth actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up and plays with a ton of energy. Glove action is clean and presents out front. At the plate, he shows an open setup. Hands are quick and works through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 71 mph. Fastball shows tailing action. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with early break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

08/02/2021 - Official Player Development Membership - Hoover (Birmingham), AL Franklin is a SS prospect who will graduate high school in 2026. Lean/athletic build with plenty of time to add throughout. At SS, he starts with fluid/efficient footwork and fields from the ground up. Athletic actions with huge upside. Creates good fielding angles and fields from a square fielding position. Low funnel, with soft hands, and has a clean exchange. Long/loose arm action as he works into 3/4 arm slot and throws are accurate to first base. Works with good momentum towards target and an arm velocity up to 70mph. At the plate, this left-handed hitter hits from a crouched and closed stance. Quiet head and level eyes enable him to track pitches well. Showed good plate discipline only offering at strikes. Short/direct hand path, with ability to keep barrel in zone for a long time, and gets extended out front. Sprayed line drives to all fields with a bat exit velocity of 68mph during BP. With 5 years of continued growth and development, we foresee Franklin having a good high school career and beyond.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Franklin continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active and plays through balls with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves his foot quickness. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 59 mph. Fastball showed a range of 76-78 mph. Breaking ball displays 10/4 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and works hard to be the best player he can be.

10/27/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Peachtree City (Atlanta), GA Franklin is a lean, athletic, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Franklin has fluid footwork, soft hands, and he fields low and athletically. He has a presentable glove, a clean exchange, and he throws with accuracy from a short arm action across the diamond. On the mound, Franklin has good balance over the rubber and a loose/clean arm circle. He keeps his eyes on target, separates his hands on time, and finishes in a complete position. Offensively, Franklin has a square stance, a short stride, and good balance. He swings aggressively, works the ball gap to gap, and he uses his lower body. Overall skills can get better with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
