07/27/2020 - Official College Recruiting Membership - York, PA Fred is a tall, strong 1B who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is solid as indicated by his 7.32 60 time. At the plate is where he shows best, displaying well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential through a tall, open setup. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped (89 mph exit velocity) through the zone as he connects with strength. The ball jumps off of his barrel through a line drive approach. Defensively at 1B, he shows active prep with fluid actions. He works around the GB and through it as he gains ground toward his target. Footwork around the bag is solid and he is a quality receiver. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. Fred has a lot of potential and will get looks from the college coaches as he continues to progress his game.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
