03/27/2022 - All-In Membership - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Freddy continues to show as a prospect on the diamond. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. At SS, he displays smooth /fluid actions. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. Feet are active as attacks ball and plays through with his body. Range will continue to increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate with carry (80 mph velocity) across the diamond. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through an open setup. Hands are quick and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Lower half works well through an aggressive hip turn. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Breaking ball shows 11/5 shape with gradual break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with slight sink. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

07/16/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Sauget (St. Louis), IL Freddy lowered pop times (2.65 seconds), lowered 60 time (8.47 seconds), and increased radar velocity (64 MPH) during his last workout with The Factory. Freddy is a thin, 2-way player with solid overall skills. On the mound, Freddy has good balance, a still had, and a clean arm circle. He separates his hands on time, has a controlled landing toward home plate, and he finishes in a complete position. Behind the plate, Freddy has a presentable glove, quick feet, and he tracks well to his glove. He surrounds the ball properly, is quick to his feet, and throws with momentum to 2nd base. Offensively, Freddy has solid mechanics, good balance, and a square set-up. He has a level/direct barrel, and shows the ability to spray to all fields. Continuing to work on the following can help skills improve.

Pitching
1. Glove side lead
2. Level shoulders
Catching
1. Square up feet
2. Tuck chin- blocking
3. Throw downhill
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Finish

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Freddy is a hard working 2023 SS/OF prospect. At SS, Freddy has active pre pitch movement; he creates angles to the ball, and plays through the backhand. Continuing to funnel the ball and exchange the ball in front of his body will allow him to get into a strong throwing position. At the plate, Freddy loads his hands back into the drive position, and stays balanced through contact. He gets the front foot down on time and has good pitch recognition. Continuing to attack the inside part of the ball and using the lower half will allow him to drive the ball to all fields. Freddy is a student of the game and will continue to improve with experience.

09/17/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Indianapolis, IN Freddy is a (2023-grad) as a SS/OF. Defensively in the OF, he shows fluid footwork with (+) lateral range as he tracks down hard-hit fly balls. He works athletically through the ball and makes accurate, on-line throws to his target. At SS, he's aggressive on his feet as he attacks the GB. He works into a square fielding position on GB's and comes up with a clean transfer to throw. With the stick, Freddy displays an athletic/square setup with smooth rhythm to load. He has a strong lower 1/2 as he drives pitches back up through the middle of the field. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Infield
1. Lateral range
2. Develop soft hands
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Outfield
1. Quick 1st step
2. Work behind the fly ball
3. Play through more
Offense
1. Improve bat speed
2. Lower 1/2 drive
3. Contact points

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
