  • SS/RHPPosition Projection

01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Gabe Adams is an impressive two-way player (SS/RHP) in the 2024 class. With quality tools at both positions he has the makings of becoming a well-rounded player. He has an athletic frame and shows impressive foot speed for a young age with a 6.85 60yd. In the infield, he displays good range and the ability to have quick feet on his double play turns. As he continues to develop and gains more experience his transfer will improve. All of his throws are accurate and around the bag. Offensively, he has an athletic stance and line drive approach. The bat path is direct to the ball. Overall at the plate he has fluid actions that make his projectability exciting. On the mound he brings a 2-pitch arensal. FB/CB with that both have good traits. His FB has good run in the low 80s range. The breaking ball has tight sharp 11-5 movement. He attacks hitters and has a sound delivery.

04/11/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Charlotte, NC Gabe is a 2024 SS/RHP. Tall frame athletic build with plenty of physical projection remaining. Ran a 6.76 60-yard dash. Right-handed hitter, hits from an upright and closed stance. Short stride into contact, gest his foot down on time well, loose and extended swing with some late whip to the barrel, has good bat speed with more to come as he gets stronger. Bat exit velocity of 79 mph. Works gap to gap with some carry. Primary SS, shows good athleticism in the infield on defense, fields cleanly out front with a good funnel, quick release on his throws. Throws from multiple arm slots and showed arm strength of 84mph. Right-handed pitcher compact arm action with a simple low effort delivery. FB was up to 78mph with some sink. Throws a curveball and slider from same window. CB has 10/4 shape with medium break. A developing changeup that he throws with FB arm speed. Good all-around athlete who will continue to improve as he gets stronger. 4 years of continued growth and development will bode well for his opportunities to play at the next level.

01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Gabe is a skilled 2-way prospect who continues to shine in a variety of ways on the diamond. On the mound, this righty toes the rubber and competes. He works tall, stays directional and repeats his delivery. Arm works quickly and he finishes well with good extension. He attacks hitters filling up the zone with strikes - FB ranging from 74-76 mph. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with good action when he stays on top. At SS, he has active prep and is ready to move right and left quickly. Hands are soft with a quick transfer to throw. Offensively, this righty shows a tall stance with a simple/repeatable stroke. Hands are quick as he engages his lower 1/2 well creating good torque with pop off of the barrel. Adams has a solid all-around skill-set and only in his Freshman year, will make an impact when he steps onto the field.

01/17/2020 - 2020 Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Gabe is an athletic and talented 2-way prospect. At 2B, Gabe is on time with his prep step, he presents a low/early glove, and plays through the ball. He fields the ball in an athletic position and makes accurate throws from multiple arm angles. At the plate, Gabe starts in a tall and open stance. He has a simple load, he gets his front foot down on time, and makes consistent contact to the pull side. On the bump, Gabe gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and works north to south in his delivery. He gets run on his fastball and has the ability to throw a knuckle ball. He has clean mechanics and pitches to contact. Gabe will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

12/27/2019 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic (Ages 12-14) Gabe is an athletic and talented 2-way prospect that was very coachable. At the plate, Gabe starts in an athletic stance, he loads his hands back, and rotates his backside. He needs to attack the inside part of the ball and get extension through the ball. He is a line drive hitter that looks to hit the ball to the middle part of the field. At SS, Gabe starts in an athletic stance, he has good instincts to the ball, and plays through the ball. He makes good feeds on double plays and he can throw from multiple arm angles. On the bump, Gabe gathers over the rubber, he separates on time, and has a loose arm action on his fastball. He has a 12-6 breaking ball and shows feel for his changeup. Gabe will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

08/11/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Kannapolis (Charlotte), NC Gabe is a tall, solid, 2-way player who plays SS and RHP. Defensively, Gabe is aggressive to the ball through efficient footwork. He fields in a square/athletic position, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency from a loose arm action across the diamond. On the mound, Gabe works in good tempo, he separates his hands on time, and lands with good direction toward the plate. Offensively, the RHH stands in the box squarely with a tall stance. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
