01/17/2020 - 2020 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Gabe continues to show as a top prospect on the diamond. Behind the dish, he presents a soft/sure mitt showing great pocket awareness sticking pitches. Quick lateral movements allow him to center/deaden pitches in the dirt off of a soft chest. Runners will not want to test his cannon for an arm (85 mph velocity) with impressive pop times of 1.90. Offensively, he continues to shine through an open setup. He has athletic/smooth actions with fluid rhythm to load. He gets good hand separation and delivers the barrel with leverage, resulting in a barrel explosion (86 mph exit velocity) with the ball screaming off of his barrel. He is aggressive as he attacks fastball early in the count.

08/25/2019 - College PREP - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Gabe is a tall, solid, and strong C/1B who has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed is well above average as indicated by his 60 time of 7.06. Behind the plate, he utilizes his quick feet well in working in line to his tar-get through a clean transfer / exchange. Pop times showed in the 1.94 range with on line carry (85 mph velocity) and accuracy to his throws as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Receiving / blocking skills are outstanding as he shows off his athletic abilities. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. Feet are active as he attacks balls and plays through with his body. Glove action is soft / sure and presents well out front. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying outstanding hitting / power potential. He has fluid rhythm while getting good hand separation. Barrel is whipped (81 mph exit velocity) through the zone as he connects through a line drive path with power showing best to the pull side. A talented prospect, Gabe will make things happen both offensively and defensively.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
