10/17/2015 - 2015 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's Futures South Since we last saw Holt in January 2015, he has trimmed two tenths off his 60 yard dash (down from 6.81 to 6.61) and has make significant improvements to his fielding and hitting tools. To only see him workout is to miss the essence of what he can do, he really excels when the game starts where he can apply his speed with excellent natural reactions and an advanced feel for the game. He especially stands out defensively, where he has excellent range to complete plays laterally and on the run coming in. In just one game at this event, he made highlight reel defensive plays both at SS (sliding backhand play in the hole) and at 3B (slow roller play towards the line). He is a truly advanced defender capable of playing anywhere in the infield. At the plate, he hits from an open stance and loads his hands more than he preps the barrel. He tends to hit off his back foot, setting up an path to contact from underneath the ball, but he has quick hands and good enough hand-eye coordination to make it work against live pitching. Overall, a "baseball player" with advanced fielding ability and a usable hit tool. You need to see him play in order to fully appreciate what he can do.
