08/26/2018 - College PREP - Lebanon (Nashville), TN Gabe continues to shine on the diamond. He only showed on the mound at the event. Delivery is sound and repeatable allowing his arm to work well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 74-79 mph with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 1/7 shape with gradual break. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Stock on the mound will continue to rise as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/12/2018 - 2018 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Gabe is an athletic LHP prospect who continued to showcase his skills on the mound at the Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament. On the mound, Gabe repeats his delivery well as he gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a loose, clean arm action and stays inline towards the plate. Gabe shows a three pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 82mph with arm side tail. Breaking ball sits from 66-67mph with 1-7 break. Changeup sits at 71mph with good cutting action. During his outing, Gabe racked up four strikeouts, showing a good feel for pitching. Overall, Gabe is a solid pitching prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Gabe is an athletic 2-way player (LHP/OF) who showed well during his time at Pirate City. He worked hard day in and day out and has made great strides in his game. On the mound, this lefty has a 3-pitch mix coming from a high 3/4 arm slot in which to keep hitters guessing. He maintains fluid tempo, works at his pace and repeats well. He has smooth separation and stay directional toward the dish. FB shows slight cutting action ranging from 79-81 mph. Breaking ball has 1/7 shape with sharp action. Changeup is thrown with FB arm speed helping to create some deception. In the OF, Gabe hustles to his right and left to track down fly-balls. He works behind and through the ball, gaining ground toward his target. As a hitter, Gabe shows a square set with patience as he waits for a pitch he likes. He barrels the ball up with some pop and uses the whole field. Gabe is coachable and is a team player who has a willingness to learn. He should make things happen when he toes the rubber this spring.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
