10/11/2023 - Arizona Freshman Fall Classic (2027) Gaberial is a 5ft 10/174 LH 2B/RHP in the 2027 class. In the field, he has an athletic feel and active feet. Displays soft hands and fields out in front. His exchanges are clean and redirects the baseball with a clean high 3qtr slot. Arms plays at 82 and is accurate to his target. On the mound, he shows solid composure and works to be aggressive. Shows a deceptive delivery from a 3 qtr slot. His FB sat 73-5 with cutting actions. His CB executed with late downward bite at 58. At the plate, he impressed scouts with his ability to use the whole field. Collected 4 hits on the weekend spraying the balls to both gaps. Creates a solid controlled and balanced set up and his smooth swing and timing allow him to see the ball well. Overall, Gaberiel may move to the corners in his future and is a rising star on the diamond.

02/05/2023 - National Showcase - Georgetown, TX Gabriel is a 2B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2027. A young/developing prospect with some strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 2B, shows efficient footwork, with ability to cut down distance, and good body control at the baseball. He shows ability to cover ground and fields from a square fielding position with a low funnel. Has a long arm stroke in back as he throws from a 3/4 arm slot. Made on-line throws consistently, with momentum to target, and an arm velocity up to 82mph across diamond. On the mound, he has a simple delivery with ability to repeat. He lands square to his target and gets his chest over his front knee. He throws a FB that sits 63-66mph, a CB with 10/4 shape, and a changeup he throws with FB arm speed. FB was best pitch during his bullpen. At the plate, he hits from a tall and square stance. Short glide step and tracks pitches well. During his round of BP, he hit balls into both gaps with a bat exit velocity up to 77mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we see this 2-way prospect having a bright future on the baseball field.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
