01/15/2021 - 2021 Baseball Factory Pre-Season All-America Tournament (FL) Gabriel is a talented/athletic (5'10"/195) two-way prospect (1B/OF/RHP) in the class of 2023 with a good feel for the game. He has a good presence at the plate, taking the box with a square/athletic setup. He uses a line-drive approach with quiet/smooth actions at the plate making him a tough out. He uses fast hands through an on-plane swing path to create consistent power, hitting the ball deep into the gaps (exit velo = 86 mph). Defensively, he uses good footwork to create range, allowing him to cover ground and get to any ball hit his way. He attacks the ball in a square/athletic position with soft hands, creating a clean exchange. He creates momentum into his release showing accurate/online throws from a high 3/4 arm slot. On the mound he has a solid delivery, keeping his eyes on his target and throwing on a downhill plane. FB ranges 71-76 with good life and CB has 1-7 shape with tight spin. Gabriel has a very bright future on the diamond, and we look forward to watching him compete at future events.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic Gabriel continued to show off his baseball abilities at the recruiting classic. At 1B, defensive abilities are outstanding as he displays clean / smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls and plays through with his body. He is a quality receiver at the bag, displaying proper footwork. Glove action is soft and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry to his target as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. At the plate, he continues to shine through a squared setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields and has strength in his swing with gap to gap pop. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

10/24/2020 - Fall Pro Training Experience - So Cal (HS) Gabriel shows as a prospect on the diamond as he continues to improve his baseball tools. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now showing outstanding hitting / power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (85 mph exit velocity) and work through an aggressive swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields, and has strength in his swing with gap-to-gap pop. At the event he was 4 for 7 with a 2B. At 1B, he continues to shine as he displays smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean, presents well out front, and consistently showed the ability to pick balls out of the dirt. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by continuing to build arm strength through a long toss program. Gabriel will get looks from the college coaches as he continues to progress his game.

09/04/2020 - HS All-Region Tournament Gabriel continues to shine on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting / power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach, flashing gap-to-gap pop. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 72 mph. Breaking ball displays 12/6 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to increase as builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

01/20/2020 - College PREP - Mesa (Phoenix), AZ Gabriel is a solid, athletic 1B/OF who has a promising future on the diamond. At 1B, he displays proper footwork, good bag awareness, and is a quality receiver. Glove action is clean as he presents well out front. In the OF, he displays clean actions. Feet are aggressive as he takes proper angles in tracking balls down. He works to get behind balls and plays through balls with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate but needs to build more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick (83 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
