Gabriel is an athletic and strong 2022 Utility prospect that continues to improve. At the hot corner, Gabriel is on time with his prep step, he anticipates the ball off the bat, and plays through his backhand. He's aggressive on slow rollers and throws from multiple arm angles. Behind the dish, Gabriel presents an early target and is on time to receive. He leads with his glove to block and tries to control the ball with his chest. At the plate, Gabriel starts in an athletic stance, he loads his hands back into the drive position, and creates backside rotation with his lower half. He creates whip in the barrel and drives the ball to all fields. Gabriel has gotten stronger and we hope to see him continue his progress into the future.

Gabriel is a talented and athletic 2022 3B prospect. At the hot corner, Gabriel presents a low early glove and plays through the backhand. He makes accurate throws and is aggressive to the ball. At the plate, Gabriel makes hard contact to the pull side and attacking the ball with his lower half. He has quick hands and drives the ball to all fields. Continuing to hit off a firm front side and stay behind the ball will allow him to identify pitches more consistently. Gabriel will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
11/05/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Tampa, FL
Gabriel is an athletic, 2-way player as a 3B/OF. Defensively at 3B, he works into an athletic fielding position and funnels GB's with soft hands. He shows athletic actions and has a clean exchange to throw. In the OF, he makes solid reads off the bat and gets behind on fly balls. He secures the catch with soft hands and makes accurate throws to his target. With the bat, Gabriel has fluid rhythm to load. He whips his barrel fast through the zone and drives pitches on a line with hard contact. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.
