05/02/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Fort Lauderdale, FL Gabriel continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities and has a promising future on the diamond. At 3B, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. Throws are accurate with carry (82 mph velocity) across the diamond. Range will increase as he continues to improve foot quickness. At the plate, he continues to show as a switch hitter but projects best as a RHH where he displays well above average hitting abilities with outstanding power potential. Hands are quick (87 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He has strength in his swing and makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through swing and shows a feel for the barrel.

02/28/2021 - Official College Recruiting Membership - Davie, FL Gabriel is an athletic 3B who will graduate in 2022. At 3B, he displays smooth / athletic actions. Feet are active as he works around balls but needs to play through with his body. Glove action is clean and presents well out front. He moves well laterally with range improving as he increases foot quickness. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows as a switch hitter with similar abilities from both sides. Hands are and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power is best shown as RHH. Gabriel has potential with time and room to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
