06/08/2019 - 2019 Under Armour Showcase: Baseball Factory's National Texas Gage is a corner infielder who can swing it. At the plate, he has near pro level hitting with pro level power abilities. He has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack, crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 95 mph). The baseball comes off the bat differently when centered.

10/07/2018 - National Tryout Plus - Georgetown, TX This strong, athletic 1B/RHP continues to show as a top prospect with a tremendous future on the diamond. He continues to show improvements in his baseball tools. At the plate is where he has improved the most, now displaying pro level hitting/power potential through a squared setup. Hands are quick and he has strength in his swing (92 exit velocity) with the baseball exploding off the bat when centered. Lower half works well through the swing and he delivers the barrel with late explosion. At 1B, he displays proper footwork around the bag and he is a quality receiver. He moves well laterally and shows a solid backhand. Glove action is soft/sure as he presents well out front. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 87 mph. Fastball shows heavy action with arm side run and sink. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. He slows arm speed on his changeup, tipping off the pitch to hitters. Control is solid as he throws strikes with all his pitches. With 2 years to further develop, Gage has the makings of a special type player and will get looks from pro scouts with his baseball abilities.

01/13/2017 - Baseball Factory All-America Pre-Season Rookie Tournament Gage is a young 3B/RHP with a strong frame (6'3", 230 lbs). In the field, Gage has a clean exchange and keeps his throws consistently accurate with good carry through his target. At the plate, Gage sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride to the ball. He is smooth getting back into his load and produces consistent contact and line drives to all fields. On the mound, this righty shows a smooth, easy motion and has a high pitching IQ. His fastball tops out at 82 mph and he throws it consistently for strikes. Breaking ball sits from 67-69 mph with good 10-4 break. Overall, Gage is a talented prospect who will be one to follow throughout his high school career.

10/30/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Corpus Christi, TX Gage continues to show impressive improvements is his baseball abilities, this time hitting the ball harder than ever (exit velo = 87mph). The power he shows at the plate is very rare for his age, as he is able to drive the ball with ease, using his strong frame and excellent bat speed. At third, he shows active feet and efficient angles to the ball, giving him extended range to both sides to more than cover his position. He has a strong arm and quick hands to make fluid DP turns and strong throws to his target. Working on fielding the backhand is the final step to becoming a complete infielder. At the plate, his power jumps out, but be shows good rhythm at the plate with a stacked load to a powerful bat angle and an on time stride to launch through the zone. His lower half works well to produce explosive bat speed and he gets good extension through contact to drive the ball and generate backspin. Gage is an exciting, young prospect with a bright future in the game.

05/22/2016 - National Tryout Plus - San Antonio, TX Gage is a talented 2-way prospect who continues to show well on the diamond. With the bat, he has a balanced setup with a strong base. Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
