01/14/2022 - 2022 Baseball Factory Rookie Pre-Season All-America Tournament Gage continues to shine with his baseball abilities at the Preseason All American Rookie Showcase. At 3B, he displays fluid / smooth actions. Feet are active as he works to square balls up. Glove action is clean but needs to present more out front. At the plate, he shows a closed setup. Hands are loose and works through an aggressive swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Lower half works well through the swing as he maintains balance. On the mound, fastball showed a range of 65-67 mph with slight arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with gradual break. Stock on the mound will continue to improve as he builds more arm strength through a long toss program.

10/17/2021 - All-In Membership - Reno, NV Gage is a 3B/RHP prospect who will graduate in 2026. Medium frame athletic build with strength present and plenty of room to add throughout. At 3B, he works to center the baseball and makes routine plays. Works into a low fielding position and tracks the ball to glove with a low funnel. Made accurate and on-line throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and an arm velocity up to 68mph. On the mound, he gathers over the rubber and works with good tempo. He showed ability to throw strikes with all of his pitches. He attacks hitters with a FB that sits 68-70mph, a breaking ball with 12/6 shape. CB was best pitch during his bullpen session. At the plate, he hits from a tall and athletic stance. A small hand load, with quickness to hands, and ability to hit ball where pitched. Gets on-plane early and showed a fast bat through hitting zone. During his round of BP, he hit balls hard to all fields with a bat exit velocity up to 78mph. With 4 years of continued growth and development, we foresee him having a bright future on the baseball field.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
