07/05/2019 - California Select Training & Competition - Session 1 (Ages 12-14)
Gage is an athletic and talented 2024 catching prospect that plays the game hard. Behind the dish he presents a low/early target, he works behind the ball, and has strong hands. When throwing he replaces his feet but he can improve arm strength and accuracy by gaining ground. He tucks his chin when blocking and gets his body in front of the ball. At the plate, Gage hunts the fastball early in counts and looks to drive the ball through the middle part of the field. He starts in a crouched stance, gets his hands inside the ball, and keeps the barrel flat through the zone. He's a bad ball hitter and went 6 for 6 with 6 singles and an RBI on the week. Gage will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.
