01/18/2019 - Baseball Factory National Spring Training at Pirate City Gage continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. On the mound, arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date, topping out at 69 mph. Arm action is loose/easy and works well to the plate. Fastball showed a range of 68-69 mph. Getting on a long toss program will help to increase arm strength and develop off speed pitches which will aid in his development on the mound. At SS, defensive abilities have improved as he displays clean/smooth actions. Feet are active as he displays proper footwork as he works to square ground balls up. Glove action is sure and presents well out front. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. At the plate, hitting/power potential has improved through a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact through a line drive approach with power showing best to the pull side. Power will continue to improve as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable.

01/12/2018 - Baseball Factory Spring Training at Historic Dodgertown Gage is a tall, well-built RHP/SS prospect who has a versatile skill set. On the mound, Gage has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He has clean arm action and extends through his release. Gage stays square to home plate with a controlled landing. He commands his fastball with late run movement. Offensively, Gage has a square, athletic stance with his weight on his heels. He has a good load with a short stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. Gage tracks the ball well and consistently lands the barrel to the baseball. He shows the ability to drive the ball to the pull side with power. In the field, Gage works hard and fields the ball in a square position. He has a clean exchange leading into a long arm action throwing from an over the top arm slot. His throws are accurate with good strength across the diamond. Overall, Gage is a talented prospect who plays the game the right way giving him a bright future.

11/12/2017 - Interactive Video Program - Middletown (Hartford), CT Gage is a SS/RHP who will graduate in 2022. Defensively at SS, he takes a prep step with active footwork and hustles into a square fielding position on GB's. He makes on-line throws and plays through the ball towards his target. On the hill, this RHP works in line and delivers from a hi 3/4 arm slot with loose/clean arm action. FB comes in at 62-63 mph and his CB has a 10-4 break at 48-52 mph. With the stick, Gage shows a quiet head with patience. He stays balanced as he takes aggressive hacks through the zone and looks to create consistent contact with each pitch. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Defense
1. Develop soft hands
2. Better footwork on backhand
3. Arm strength (long toss)
Pitching
1. Work downhill
2. Lower 1/2 drive off rubber
3. Develop a CH
Offense
1. Develop a load
2. Stay inside
3. Lower 1/2 drive

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
