Official Scouting Report

07/25/2018 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Gage showed offensive and defensive improvements during his time at the UA Championships. At the plate, Gage stands in athletically, he loads well, and flashes fast bat speed. He swings on plane, hits line drives, and has good speed down the line. In the OF, Gage has active feet, firm hands, and he reads the ball off the bat well. He takes proper angles, plays through properly, and throws with consistency and direction toward his target.

05/26/2018 - College PREP - Salt Lake City, UT Gage is a lean, athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 6.99. In the OF, he displays well above average defensive abilities and utilizes his feet well in taking proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls, playing through with momentum to his target. Range is excellent as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work to and through level swing path. He has strength in his swing and shows a feel for the barrel through a line drive approach. Gage has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
