  • OF/RHPPosition Projection

10/23/2019 - Under Armour SoCal Classic, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Gage is a coachable OF/RHP prospect who showed well during the SoCal Classic. In the field, Gage shows active footwork and works through the ball well. He gets into an athletic position and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gains momentum well on his throws, keeping them accurate through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance with comfortable hands. He is fluid getting his hands activated in his load and gets good extension through the ball. He produces fast bat speed through the zone, leading to consistent line drives and gap to gap pop. On the mound, Gage gathers over the rubber and separates his hands on time. He works with a clean arm and stays inline towards the plate, finishing with a controlled landing. Gage shows a two pitch mix with his fastball topping out at 76mph with arm side run. Breaking ball sits at 69mph with 11-5 break. Overall, Gage is a talented prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

06/16/2019 - Omaha National World Series - Session 1 (Ages 14-18) Gage is a coachable OF prospect who continued to showcase his skills at the Omaha National World Series. In the field, Gage takes a good first step and attacks the ball aggressively. He gets into position on time and fields the ball out in front of his body. He makes a clean exchange and gets rid of the ball quickly, keeping his throws accurate with carry through his target. At the plate, this RHH sets up in an athletic stance and takes a square stride. He shows a good rhythm and barrels up the ball well. Overall, Gage is a solid prospect who has the potential to contribute at the next level.

05/25/2019 - College PREP - Salt Lake City, UT Gage is a wiry, athletic OF who has a promising future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 6.89. In the OF, defensive abilities are well above average as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he moves well laterally and covers a lot of ground. He gets rid of the baseball quickly with accuracy and zip (80 mph velocity) on his throws but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting / power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick (81 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach with gap-to-gap pop. Gage has a lot of potential and will get looks from the collegiate coaches with his baseball abilities as he continues to progress his game.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
