09/03/2021 - Baseball Factory's All-Region Tournament (HS) Gage continues to show as a prospect on the diamond with improvements in his baseball abilities. Behind the plate, feet are aggressive and active as he works in line to his target, through a clean transfer / exchange as he gets rid of the baseball quickly. Pop times have improved as he threw his lowest time to date at 2.15. Times will continue to drop as he builds more arm strength. He shows a squared setup, tracks well, and sticks balls in the zone. He utilizes his body well through the blocking process, centering balls out front. At the plate, he continues to shine through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently.

12/27/2020 - Baseball Factory Christmas Camp & Tournament at Pirate City - Session 2 Gage is a young and energetic C/OF that will graduate in 2024. Behind the dish he shows a low and confident target. As the pitch is thrown, he tracks the ball in well. As he works to throw, he replaces his feet making a clean 2-hand exchange. He delivers the throw to 2B on time with a clean arm action. Blocking, he gets to the ground on time with agile range keeping the ball in front of his body. At the dish, he shows a square setup with loose hands. As Gage loads he keeps his weight centered and fires his flower half. He works hard to make consistent contact showing the most power to the pull side. Gage shows great athletic foundations to build on and will continue to grow and develop.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
