12/27/2017 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Gage continues to show a promising future on the diamond. In the OF, he continues to shine as he displays smooth / clean actions. Feet are active as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. Throws are accurate with carry but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he is very coachable and plays the game hard.

09/24/2017 - College PREP - Tacoma (Seattle), WA Gage is a well-rounded outfield prospect who plays the game hard. As a left-handed hitter, Gage has a square, athletic stance with a centered balance. He has fluid rhythm with a smooth load and short stride as he uses his lower half throughout his swing. He has explosive bat speed with a direct, on-plane swing path. Gage has quick hands producing hard contact. He is a line drive type hitter who can spray the ball to all fields. In the outfield, Gage plays with effective footwork and an aggressive approach. He fields the ball in a square position with a firm glove. Gage has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a high 3/4 arm slot. He is building arm strength and working to play through the baseball. Overall, Gage is an athletic outfield prospect who has upside to get even better.

07/26/2017 - Under Armour Southwest Championships 17U, powered by Baseball Factory's Team One Gage is a hardworking outfield prospect who has a solid approach to the game and graduates in 2018. As a left-handed hitter, Gage has a square, tall stance and an aggressive approach. He takes a close stride and uses his lower half throughout his swing. He shows a flat bat plat through the zone and solid contact to the pull side. Gage has a good feel for the strike zone and competes with two strikes. In the outfield, Gage plays with an aggressive approach and makes the plays. He plays hard and works to get behind the ball. Gage has a clean exchange and throws from a low 3/4 arm slot. Overall, Gage is a coachable prospect who plays the game the right way and has upside to take his game to the next level with development.

08/04/2016 - Baseball Factory Pro Select Training & Tournament at Historic Dodgertown Gage showed as a very coachable and hardworking player. In the OF, he displays smooth / fluid actions. Feet are aggressive as he works proper angles in tracking down balls. Glove action is soft / sure as he presents hands well out front. He works to get behind balls and plays through well. At the plate, he shows an athletic setup. Hands are quick and work through a level swing path. He makes consistent contact with power showing best to the pull side. Power will increase as he utilizes his lower half more. At the event, he was 2 for 5.

06/27/2016 - National Tryout Plus - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Gage really improved his foot speed at the event as he ran his best 60 time to date, now a well above average runner at 7.09. He has improved his defensive abilities in the OF as he utilizes his quick feet in covering a lot of ground. He takes proper routes / angles and works to get behind balls. At the plate, he shows an open / athletic setup. Hands are loose and work through a compact swing path, creating extension. He works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach.

11/05/2015 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Gage continues to show potential on the diamond. In the OF, he moves well with light feet and plus range. He works through the ground ball and throws with accuracy to his targets. As he works to play through the fly ball and become more aggressive, his stock in the OF will increase. At the plate, he continues to work up the middle of the field with his consistent swing path. He shows the ability to make in game adjustments to give him the best chance at the plate. In all, Gage is slowly molding himself into a next level player.

09/27/2015 - National Tryout Plus - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Gage is a young, LHH OF who continues to work hard. He showed well offensively at his latest event. He stands in with a solid base and waits for his pitch. He has the ability to take the pitch on the outer 1/3 the other way. Shortening his stride (avoiding to lung) will allow him to use more of his lower 1/2 resulting in more pop. In the OF, Gage works hard to track down balls hit to his right and left. He secures the ball and has a clean exchange to throw. Continuing to strengthen his arm (long toss) will help to take his OF game to the next level. This 2018 grad will continue to develop with still a couple of years to do so.

11/06/2014 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Gage continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF, defensive grade has improved as well as he takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls and works to get behind balls, playing through well with momentum to his target. Throws display accuracy but needs to develop better foot work to throw and build more arm strength through a long toss program to improve arm grade. At the plate, he has improved his hitting / power grades through and athletic setup. Hands are quick, flashing bat speed through a level swing path through an aggressive approach. He has pop in his swing with baseball jumping off the bat when centered, mainly to the pull side. Hitting grade will continue to improve as he works to keep hands inside the ball to utilize all fields. Power numbers will continue to improve as he learns to use his lower half more efficiently. At the event, he was 2 for 5. Mental makeup is a plus as he plays with a lot of energy and is very coachable, working hard to be the best player he can be.

06/24/2014 - Interactive Video Program - Bellevue (Seattle), WA Gage is a 2-way player (2B/OF) who has an athletic build (5'6"/120). At the plate, this LHH shows an open setup with good balance. He gets back into a loaded position, swings on a level path and uses his lower 1/2 well to generate pop. At 2B, Gage works around the ground ball and fields it out in front. He shows good range and can get to balls to his right and left. In the OF, he works on the balls of his feet and take solid routes/angles to track down fly-balls. A clean exchange from glove to hand allows him to fire accurate throws into his target. Overall abilities in his game will improve with work on the following.

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
