Official Scouting Report

  • SSPosition Projection

05/05/2019 - National Tryout Plus - New Orleans, LA Gann worked out at SS during his last workout with the Factory and showed solid offensive and defensive upgrades. At SS, Gan showed soft hands, efficient footwork, and he covers ground well. He makes plays, his exchange is clean, and he throws with consistency and accuracy from a loose arm action to his target. Arm grade improved to 38 and fielding to 40. Offensively, Gann stands in the box squarely, he has a short stride, and good balance. He tracks well, has a short swing path, and makes solid/consistent contact.

11/08/2018 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition at Pirate City (Ages 14-18) Gann is a coachable 2B prospect who worked hard on his skills during his time at the Select Training & Competition at Pirate City. In the field, Gann shows a good prep step and makes the routine plays. Getting into a lower fielding position can help Gann improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and takes a square stride. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives to all fields. Working a smoother load into his swing can help Gann improve as a hitter. With four more years to develop, Gann has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

12/27/2017 - Baseball Factory Winter Classic - Session 2 (Ages 12-14) Gann is a coachable player who is a good teammate and worked hard on his skills during his time at the Winter Classic. Defensively, he comes to get the GB and works into a square fielding position. He tracks the ball into his mitt and gathers well. Continuing to develop his foot speed & agility will help to improve his lateral range. As a hitter, this righty looks for a pitch he can drive. Swing is level and repeatable as he knocks the ball back up the middle of the field (collecting 2 singles in his first 3 at bats at the event). Only a 2022 grad, Nobles still has a ton of time to develop and get stronger to get to where he wants to be.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
