09/24/2023 - National Showcase - Seattle/Pasco, WA Gannon is a 2026 RHP/OF prospect from Ellensburg, WA. In the OF, he does a nice job of getting in a ready position and shows off quick feet. He has good range to his glove side and does a great job of getting behind the baseball when fielding. He makes all the routine plays and shows off a good glove lane when fielding. He has a quick exchange and makes accurate throws to his targets with quick release. He works hard to attack the baseball and get a good jump. At the plate, he starts in an open stance and has a short stride to the pitcher. He works hard to keep his balance centered and stay short and direct to the baseball. He finishes strong with his hips driving through contact. He has a nice line-drive approach and flashed the ability to spray the ball to all fields. On the mound, he has a good setup and does well to gather his balance over the rubber. He gets some drive out of his legs and does a good job of staying squared to the plate during delivery. He gets a good glove tuck and has a proper stride length for his frame. Gannon is an exciting prospect that we are looking forward to keeping an eye on as he continues to develop!

11/06/2020 - Baseball Factory Select Training & Competition in Arizona Gannon continues to show improvements in his baseball abilities. Foot speed has improved as he ran his best 60 time to date. In the OF he displays smooth actions. He takes proper routes / angles in tracking down balls. He needs to work to get behind balls and play through with momentum to his target. Range will increase as he improves foot quickness. Throws are accurate, but will benefit by building more arm strength through a long toss program. At the plate, he shows a squared setup. Hands are loose and work through a level swing path. He stays inside the ball, utilizing all fields through a line drive approach. Power will continue to increase as he utilizes his lower half more efficiently. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a positive attitude, works hard, and is very coachable. Only a 2025 grad - Gannon still has a ton of time to progress and physically mature (get stronger).

12/14/2019 - Nor Cal Regional Offensive Skills and Pitching/Catching Combined Weekend (Ages 12-14) Gannon is a coachable C prospect who worked hard on his skills during the Accelerated Training Weekend. Behind the plate, Gannon sits in a square stance and tracks the ball into his glove. He throws from a 3/4 angle and works to keep his throws accurate to the 2B bag. Receiving with softer hands can help Gannon improve defensively. At the plate, this RHH sets up in a square stance and gets into his load well. He works to barrel up the baseball and drives to the opposite field. Gannon can improve as a hitter by taking a shorter stride. With five more years to develop, Gannon has the time and potential to further progress his skills on the field.

09/22/2019 - Interactive Video Program - Lynnwood (Seattle), WA Gannon is a young, 2-way player who catches and plays OF. Behind the plate, Gannon has playable hands and feet, and he sits in squarely. He looks the ball in, is quick to recover when blocking, and throws with some direction to 2nd base. In the OF, Gannon gets in a good ready position, he gets okay reads off the bat, and he makes the routine plays. At the plate, Gannon has a square stance, good balance, and he takes a square stride toward the pitcher. He makes contact consistently and can hit to the opposite field. Gannon can improve overall skills with work on the following.

Catching
1. Quicken feet
2. Hands
3. Release
Outfield
1. Footwork
2. Fielding position
Offense
1. Lower body
2. Load
3. Bat speed

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
