08/01/2018 - Baseball Factory National World Series at Pirate City - Session 2 (Ages 14-18) Gannon is an athletic 2020 2-way prospect that has a strong frame. He is a hard worker that made several adjustments throughout the week at Pirate City. In the OF, Gannon has active pre-pitch movement, he's aggressive on ground balls, and makes accurate throws. He needs to continue to work on his first step to the ball and increase hi route efficiency. At the plate, Gannon starts in an athletic stance, loads his hands back into the drive position, and makes consistent hard contact. He needs to continue to attack the inside part of the ball and create backside rotation. Keeping a middle approach and hunting the fastball will allow him to hit the ball to all fields. On the bump, Gannon gathers over the rubber, separates on time, and has a clean arm action. Keeping a good tempo and working north to south will allow his arm to catch up to his lower body. His fastball sits 79-81 with sink and his breaking ball has a medium 10-4 break. Gannon needs to continue to be loose and keep the game fun with his skills set. He will continue to improve with experience and we hope to see his progress in the future.

05/20/2018 - College PREP - Redwood City (San Francisco/San Jose), CA Gannon is a talented RHP/OF prospect who has a well-rounded game. On the mound, Gannon has a balanced, on-time delivery throwing from a 3/4 arm slot with a loose arm action. He keeps his eyes on his target and stays square to home plate. Gannon has good hip action and does a nice job rotating towards his target as he finishes. He commands his fastball with run movement at 78-81 MPH. He also commands his curveball with medium break and changeup with run movement. In the field, Gannon plays with effective footwork taking the correct angles to cover good ground. He presents his glove and fields the ball in a square position. Gannon has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action. He plays with good momentum through the baseball showing consistently online throws. Offensively, Gannon has an open stance with his weight on his heels. He has a load with a short stride as his lower half leads his swing. Gannon gets good extension with his hands and engages his hips in his swing. He has power showing the ability to drive the ball to the pull side. Overall, Gannon is a versatile prospect who has skill on both sides of the ball.

Tool Grade Scale

Our main goals with the BF "10-70" Scouting Scale are to provide the player with a realistic evaluation of his "PRESENT" abilities (what he can do today), and to provide college coaches with information they can use to identify and/or compare potential recruits.

Tools are graded for all players and pitchers, regardless of age or graduation year. However, for High School players we use only grades 20-70 (grades 10-18 do not apply), while for Middle School players we use only grades 10-52 (grades 55-70 do not apply).
